The Guest House

Nestled in Senior Quarter’s a beautiful neighborhood of Gulu city and strategically placed between Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley one of The best National Parks in Uganda, African Roots enjoys a privileged location from which to explore the many wonderful activities, sites and attractions that Uganda has to offer.

African Roots Gulu boasts of 14 spacious en-suites, a stand-alone Tiki hut restaurant, a small garden exclusive to only residents and a coffee shop that is in the process of opening soon. Our facility is also available for group bookings, for more enquiries please contact us.

Rooms

All our guest rooms offer lovely views across our lush gardens from each private balcony. Tastefully decorated with Ugandan local art, our 14 spacious guest rooms’ offer – comfortable beds equipped with custom made mosquito nets, en suite bathroom & showers, balcony, desk & chair, clothing and luggage racks. Our handcrafted beds offer the flexibility to request either a single, double / twin – share or triple occupancy. Baby Cots are available on request.

Akiida Restaurant
All our meals are freshly made and served at the restaurant located upstairs. Our
resident guests have the option of dining in our mini court yard garden exclusive only to them and limited up to 9:30PM. Breakfast is inclusive of the room rate, lunch menu is available through-out the day to order on an A-la-carte basis.
Group bookings are welcome on reservation and a flexible buffet menu has been put in place to suit independent needs of each group.
If you have any special dietary requirements, just let us know in advance and we will be happy to alter the menu for you.

Roots Bar
Our cocktail bar within the main restaurant has a selection of our local and imported
